Allison McKinzie

Competition Director​​

Allison McKinzie graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2005. She began her professional dance career in 2007 with Kacico Dance, Kansas City Contemporary Dance. Allison became a Co-Artistic Director from 2010-2015 and contributed to the grant writing, programming and choreography of the company. Allison has performed and had her choreography presented at The Gem Theater, The Folly Theater, The Carlsen Center, The Lied Center and The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts to name a few. She has been invited to present works at the Kansas City Fringe Festival, Dance in the Park and Modern Night at the Folly. Allison is currently the Competition Director at The Academy of the Arts in Shawnee, Kansas where she specializes in Modern, Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet.
